Summary/Abstract: Nicolae Pătrașcu was a representative figure among the leaders of the legionary movement in Romania. Born in 1903, he joined the Legion in 1929, becoming its secretary-general in 1940. He fled the country after the January 1941 rebellion but returned in November 1944. He is famous for his "pact" with Communist Interior Minister Teohari Georgescu, signed in December 1945, which remained in force until May 1948. He was then arrested for 16 years.
