Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to Czech verbal phrases (VP) with dative valence and their translation equivalents in Bulgarian. The VP were excerpted from the core of the parallel corpus InterCorp, along with noun phrases in the dative case and the corresponding segments in Bulgarian. The behaviour of nominal groups in Bulgarian was analyzed in relation to the meaning of the verb. The study showed that the Bulgarian equivalents of most Czech noun phrases in the dative are prepositional phrases with нa. For some verbs, the Bulgarian evidence also includes phrases other than prepositional, which was influenced by the syntactic and semantic characteristics of verbs.
