Summary/Abstract: Children represent a special group of people with a series of specific needsfor protection, because of their psychophysical state, according to their age. Enablingthe fulfilment of all child's rights and providing an adequate protection and conditionsfor the correct development of children, must be of primary importance on thenational and international level. The need for more efficient solving of the child'srights protection issue has forced upon adopting different international, but alsoregional documents, whose cause is determination and expanding the catalogue ofchild’s rights on a higher level, development of national modules and strategies ofprotection, as well as acceleration of countries’ cooperation in terms of applying theserights, which include the child's right for protection from violence. Violence overchildren presents a constantly actual problem, and especial worry is an increasingextension of peer and family violence. From the analysis of the documents whichcontain regulations in this area, it is clear that raising a level of conscience about theguaranteed child's rights, as well as about the seriousness and destructiveness ofappearance of violence over children, needs necessary actions towards more efficientprotection of children and their rights.
