Summary/Abstract: In the paper, the authors present and analyse the nine judicial training principles adopted by the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN). These principles are the sublimation of the existing best comparative practices and standards related to judicial training, including both initial and continuous training,and underlining the importance of the support of the executive power to thefunctioning of judicial training institutions. The objective of the paper is toshowcase and analyse in detail the contents of these principles in the context of their importance for the functioning of an independent judiciary and the rule of law. Using the comparative law method, the authors also present specific examples of the implementation of these principles in practice. Finally, the authors highlight the importance of these principles for Serbian judiciary.
