Summary/Abstract: In the paper the author clarifies the nature of clinical social work, the fields, in which it helps, and the ways in which it does that. The analysis considers in a meaningful and criterion manner the character of “the clinical” in respect to the ways of providing help and the specific type of conditions problems and needs, in which clinical social work intervenes. On this basis some of its more concrete fields are specified. Emphasis is placed on the methods for biopsychosocial intervention as being particularly representative of the methodological resource of clinical social work.
