Summary/Abstract: Clinical social work is a profession aimed at working with people with mental suffering. In Bulgaria the clinical social work practice has its history, but its status is yet unclear, because it is hard to differentiate between the fields of social pedagogy, social work and clinical social work. The following paper tries to suggest possible criterias and ways for development in the professional field by taking for example countries like the USA and Germany.
