Summary/Abstract: The role of communication in the contemporary world is one which requires no more introduction, being already a proven fact that an adequate and nuanced approach of the communication processes is essential in our understanding as beings subjected to becoming and implicitly in accepting the State institutions as bodies undergoing continuous transformation. For a longtime, in Romania, the museum was an institution focused on the conservation, storage and valorization of the heritage through exhibitions, the objective of educating, of instructing the public through the attractive and interactive presentation and interpretation of its collection being as signed to it rather recently. This, we can now a days talk of a real metamorphosis of many museums in Romania as a reaction of this advanced state of non-communication, previously registered, and which was inevitably was subjected to change. This though, did not take place at once, but it initially happened experimentally, beings spread to most of the profile institutions in Romania. Economical, cultural or political factors determined the accentuation of the importance of communication processes in the social life, gathering continuously more and more fields of activity. Thus, in the 21st century, the Romanian museum had turned from a rigid institution which would transmit a fixed message, unchanged since entire decades in to a forum for thes haring of information, and the museum specialist or museum guide into a communicator. The present paper aims at pointing out the challenge such a role of communicator of the museum message involves.
