Challenges of the new Energy Efficiency Directive

Summary/Abstract: On 4th October this year EU Council endorsed new Energy Efficiency Directive that on 11th September this year is adopted by the European Parliament, too. Directive is proposed with title Proposal for a DIRECTIVE OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on energy efficiency and repealing Directives 2004/8/EC and 2006/32/EC, 2011/0172 (COD). The Directive prescribes the legal framework for improvement of energy efficiency, on energy consumption side as well as in energy production, transmission and distribution. In this paper are shown the key elements of this important directive.
