Summary/Abstract: Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder is one of the most common childhood disorders, and its symptoms and impairment in multiple domains begin in childhood and can have an impact on entire educational trajectory of a student. There is plenty of literature demonstrating children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder experience substantial ongoing social difficulties, which result in peer rejection and fewer meaningful friendships. Social and emotional skills deficits are among the most significant problems for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Presented study offers a brief overview of the literature related to specifics of social skills in students with ADHD, particularly looks at the play therapy as possible strategy for helping with social skills improvement for students with ADHD.
