Summary/Abstract: The presence of full-value cooperation in criminal law implies and requires an exchange of personal data. In order for such cooperation to be possible, legal regulation of the said exchange is needed. This article analyzes the EU legal regulation of the adoption of solutions regarding the adequate level of protection; those provisions regarding the protection of personal data which are contained in the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement; the solutions concerning the presence of an adequate level of protection within the United Kingdom; the possibilities of exchange of personal data where no such solutions are present; the post-Brexit specifi cs of personal data exchange between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom.
