Summary/Abstract: The global and multidimensional migration phenomenon can be analysed from multiple points of view (anthropological, geographical, social, cultural,economic, demographic, political, psychological), to understand the mechanisms underlying this phenomenon, but also its implications, both for the arrival space as well as for the departure one. Beginning with the general trends and characteristics of external migration from Romania, this article will focus mainly on the psychological implications on the family environment, taking into account the research conducted in this field in Romania.
