Summary/Abstract: Even if the protection of the human embryo still does not know a universal and clear recognition of its status as a person, the progress of biomedical science accelerates this fact’s necessity. The recognition by many European normative acts of the human dignity of the embryo and the fetus, i.e. much earlier than the moment of a person’s birth, represents a wide legal platform to guarantee and protect the human being from his origin.
