Create in the Image of God – the Foundation of Human Dignity

Summary/Abstract: Human beings are social beings with feelings, thinking and will. They have freedom to choose, ability to communicate and a moral compass. In the same time, they long for love, value, worth, freedom and dignity. This is true, especially in our fallen word with all the hate, discrimination and human trafficking. Where do they have this longing from? This article answers this question from the biblical perspective. Humans are created in the image of God. This is the foundation for real dignity and freedom. We experience the sad reality of sin, that darkened the image of God in our lives and in our relationships. But, there is hope. By the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, any human can be re-created in God’s image and the dignity can be fully restored.
