Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problems of separating persons sentenced to prison in penitentiaries in the Republic of Moldova. The comparative analysis of similar problems in penitentiary system in foreign countries during the execution of the prison sentence is performed. The most effective and promising developments in the field of separation of different categories of convicted persons are elucidated.
