Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses Tobias Rees’ project to practice the anthropology of the actual, which aims at grasping what is not known and thought yet with reference to man and the human. What is at stake is a movement (of thought) as such. Rees wants to escape both the spatially framed classic anthropology and the timely framed what he calls the anthropology of the emergent. The latter also claims the actual, and since Rees underlines the ongoing nature of experience, I associate his actual with the current. I find his project to express movement (time) through the performance a series of (three) particular steps (quite classically identified).
