Hospitable Shanghai – Jewish Refugees and their Periodicals

Summary/Abstract: This article is a presentation of selected periodicals published in Shanghai by Jewish refugees from Europe during World War II. The author focus on a few, most interesting for the Polish reader, issues related to the refugee experience and attempts to survive in such a different cultural environment. The author also indicates the most characteristic motives for the creation and functioning of the writings, briefly characterizes their contents, and discusses selected important literary texts published at that time.
