Summary/Abstract: People with psychopathic personality represent very complex cases due to a difficulty of the notion of psychopathy as well as the problems related to their diagnostics and resocialization. Psychopathy constitutes a specific subcategory of personality disorders, a severe disturbance of the character structure and manner of behaviour. Therapy of people with psychopathic personality traits is not an easy task to be accomplished. In the subject literature, pessimism prevails with regard to efficiency of therapy of this group of patients. Psychopathy constitutes this type of the personality disorder that demonstrates very limited susceptibility to therapeutic change. The article explains the concepts related to dissociative personality disorders in the context of the international classification of diseases and health problems. The issues related to diagnosis of personality disorders and the concept of psychopathy with possible causes of its occurrence have been presented. Finally, forms of therapy applied for people with psychopathic personality traits, their efficiency and the most important factors inhibiting this process have been shown.
