Summary/Abstract: Russia experienced a painful transition period in the course of Yeltsin period. The decentralized administrative structure, market economics and transiton of multi-party system caused instabilities in the domestic politics. As a result of the privatization program which was put rapidly into effect and the transition from the planned economics to market economics in particular, a distorted economic structuring developed. On the other hand, a number of dilemmas were observed in the foreign politics. This situation caused the depression of belonging to be experienced in Russia. Thus, some scientific opinions were put forward by the New Westernizers and New Eurasieners as to what the new ìidealsî that will shape the Russian Foreign Politics should be and the crisis of belonging the Russian Federation experienced. The fundamental insights of the movements of New Westernism and New Eurasianism and the reflection of these into the Russian foreign politics during Yeltsin era were investigated in this study.
