Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt of pointing to the fact that the question of protection of human rights and minority rights of Roma is not only the problem of law practice, but also that of the prejudices of majority non-Roma population against the Roma, one of the sources of the negative social position of Romanies in Serbia. Our research subject is therefore concerned with media presentations of the Roma. We have been interested in how, when and in what ways the Roma enter the media space and what media-created images of this group are. We have analyzed the prototypical represen- tative of tabloid journalism in Serbia – the tabloid newspaper Kurir (2003-2007).
