The history of the Sofia District Court through the prism of the regulation of the main court of first instance in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The article outlines the history of the Sofia regional court against the background of the main court of first instance in Bulgaria and its historical development from the Liberation to date. Light is brought from both historical and judicial perspective into the establishment of the main court of first instance and the transformations that followed based on its structural and functional place in the court system. The effect of the legislative changes over the statute of the Sofia district court in particular is highlighted.
