Historical-geographic dictionary of Prussia in the Middle Ages

The conception and purpose of the project, and its publication plans

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the preliminary results of the Historicalgeographic dictionary of Prussia in the Middle Ages and at the threshold of the Early Modern period. These findings are related to similar research conducted since the 1960s on Polish lands in the Middle Ages. The article discusses in detail the first stages of research, covering Lower Prussia and Warmia. It addresses the chronological scope of the project, administrative structures, and outlines the source basis. The article also includes cartographic materials, which show the territorial coverage of the preliminary stage of the project.
