The legal status of the transylvanian prince in the time of the sovereignty of Transylvania

Summary/Abstract: The dignity of transylvanian prince developed as the sovereignty itself in a process over several decades. After the Ottoman victory over the troups of the Hungarian king in Mohacs at 1526, Transylvania became a autonomous principality under Ottoman souvereignty. The author describes the process of the formation of the souvereignty and the dignity of transylvanian prince as well as its legal status.
