In 1931 he gradueited in philosophy and was qualified to teach Polish in schools. In the same year Mieczysław returned to Wadowice and established the Amatorski Teatr Powszehny at the "Sokół" Gymnastic Society. The young Karol Wojtyła came into contact with Kotlarczyk taking part in plays staged by him.
