Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes the reception of Olga Tokarczuk's creation in Romania, starting from the translated texts and critical comments (articles, studies, conferences, interviews etc.). Olga Tokarczuk is the best known contemporary Polish novelist in Romania, due to the numerous translations (almost all the novels have been translated into Romanian, except for the Books of Jacob, a fresco novel, which is going to be published next year). A great role in promoting the works of the writer came to the Polirom publishing house in Iași, which has published over the years the author series, dedicated to Olga Tokarczuk. The article highlights the quality of the translations too. Cristina Godun played a special role in this regard by managing to render in Romanian the particularities of the narrative and the style of the author. The reception, complex phenomenon, also entails the evaluation of difficulties in the translation process. In Olga Tokarczuk’s case, most of the difficulties are related to changing the stylistic register, depending on the themes and the areas covered, but also on the acquisition of the lesser-known marginal spaces.
