Summary/Abstract: This paper explores entrepreneurship and the advancement of entrepreneurial skills of the employees in the public sector in North Macedonia, i.e., in the public enterprises. The primary goal of public enterprises is to increase social welfare and protect the public interest, unlike private sector companies whose main goal is to profit. Mayor findings of the paper revealed that employees in the public sector in North Macedonia have a high degree of advancement in entrepreneurial skills, such as creative thinking, planning, and research, decision making, etc. On the one hand, the respondents’ level of education in the survey significantly impacts the knowledge and use of entrepreneurial skills. In contrast, on the other, the restraint that employees have from managers and superiors in the public sector is an essential factor in limiting the use of entrepreneurial skills. Consequently, this is reflected in the unsatisfactory quality of services of the Macedonian public administration, for which many recommendations and reforms were proposed in the past.
