Summary/Abstract: It has been 30 years since the constitution of andragogy in Slovakia as an independent scientific discipline within the educational sciences. The Slovak concept of andragogy was formed on the theoretical basis of the concepts of andragogy of its most important world representatives, taking into account the specifics of the theoretical elaboration of adult education in Slovakia. Current andragogy reflects the latest trends in theoretical development, which reflect changes in the practice of adult education, in particular shifting the focus from adult education through further adult education to lifelong education and lifelong learning of adults. The adult learns through a combination of different ways of learning, blurring the differences between learning and lifelwide learning.
