Summary/Abstract: The acquisition of information is at the heart of the overall activity of the counterintelligence services and is crucial to the effectiveness of their activities and operations aimed at protecting national security. In order to obtain the necessary data in a timely manner, counterintelligence authorities use a variety of approaches and tools specifically designed to ensure the security of the state. Part of this special toolkit is based on the use of technical tools that are implemented in the right place to provide the necessary information. In other cases, approaches include the use of the human factor to provide relevant information for detecting, preventing and interrupting national security activity. The article deals with issues relevant to the operational methods used by the counterintelligence services in carrying out their activities. Issues related to the prerequisites, mechanisms and tactical approaches in the application of intelligence meeting are discussed, as one of the ways to obtain the information needed to solve the tasks of counterintelligence authorities.
