Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research is to reveal the effect of emotional intelligence levels of tourist guides on self-esteem. A previously developed scale was used to measure the emotional intelligence levels and self-esteem of tourist guides. In this study, convenience sampling method was used as the sampling method. In this context, a survey was conducted on active tourist guides affiliated to Aydın Guides Chamber. Of the 298 returned questionnaires, 281 questionnaires were considered suitable for data analysis. Independent groups t test, one-way analysis of variance (Anova), post hoc test and regression were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis, it was observed that there was a difference between the emotional intelligence levels of the tourist guides according to their age, educational status and experience, but no significant difference was observed between gender and emotional intelligence. It was concluded that emotional intelligence sub-dimensions (individual emotional evaluation, evaluating the emotions of others, adjusting emotions and using emotions) affect self-esteem.
