Personnel's Perception of Psychological Well-Being within the Scope of Coastal and City Hotel Management: Who is Happier?

Summary/Abstract: Since the focal point of working life in tourism, which is one of the most important service sector areas, is human, it is assumed that situations such as organizational communication, working conditions, readiness, and self-actualization have an impact on the psychological well-being of individuals. However, there is another question that is curious about whether psychological wellbeing statuses change according to the region of study. From this point of view, in the aim of the study is; the aim is to highlight whether there is a difference in the psychological well-being of the personnel working in the tourism sector according to the region of study. In this context, data were collected from a total of 759 personnel working in selected tourism enterprises in the coastal(Alanya) and city hotel management (Ankara) category, through a questionnaire. According to the research findings, while it is seen that the psychological well-being levels of the personnel working in the city hotel management are higher, it has also been concluded that there is no difference in psychological well-being on demographic factors such as gender and status.
