Summary/Abstract: The ethnogenesis space of the Romanian people knows the most varied landforms: mountain, hills, plains. What is noteworthy is that no matter what form of relief we relate to, the forest has been present everywhere. The specific terminology of the forest and of all that means the processing of wood in order to obtain whatever necessary for man was a source of enrichment of the Romanian anthroponymic system. In this article, the author capitalized on the information coming from the book “Traditional occupations on the territory of Romania”, vol. 4, by Gheorghe Iordache, and from the Anthroponymic Database of Romania, established at the Onomastic Research Laboratory of the Faculty of Letters, University of Craiova, in 1994. The identified last names, totaling 180, are presented with the frequency recorded by region and county.
