Companies’ challenges relating to financing availability taking into account requirements of sustainable development

Summary/Abstract: A being watched increase of requirements regarding the sustainable development around companies influences the conditions of continued operation. The changes also affect the availability of equity and debt financing. The article presents the hypothesis: non-fulfillmen requirements of the sustainable development by a company limits significantly possibilities to acquire both equity and debt financing. After the analysis, it turned out that the thesis was confirmed, because the number of potential investors and lenders in case of such entities is significantly smaller, practically there is no possibility to take debt financing for general purposes and conditions of financing are generally less favourable than in case of entities acting in line with sustainable development requirements. At the same time, it is possible to acquire financing by taking proper actions, e.g. to define strictly the aim of financing being in line with ESG assumptions.
