Summary/Abstract: How is the legal profession changing in times of globalisation, characterised by flexibility, legal pluralism, tax set-offs and recession? And how is the lawyer/client relationship changing in respect to classical and new theoretical models concerning lawyers' and clients' roles within this relationship? Are lawyers aware of their new role in such a complex legal-cultural scenario? The aim of this paper is to propose some theoretical and practical conclusions about transformations involving the legal profession, considering both external features (globalisation, the crisis of positive law, and economic recession) and internal ones (the lawyer/client relationship).
