Work and wealth in Slovak and Romanian phraseology

Summary/Abstract: The idioms we use also reflect our social worlds. They come into existence in human work interactions and reflect the degree of wealth attainable through work. In the same way antonyms help delimitate the meaning of a word, so does poverty phraseology help define the idiomatic language of wealth and prosperity. Thus, phraseology serves as a time capsule of the linguistic view of the world and the shared knowledge of a certain group of speakers.
