Summary/Abstract: This article examines the national curricula for German as a foreign language in Slovenian elementary school from the point of view of multilingual pedagogy. The potential of multilingual approaches for foreign language teaching/learning should be firmly anchored in language policy documents so that it can be implemented in practice at all. The analysis of existing and valid curricula shows that multilingualism is partly addressed in the curricula, but there is still a lack of concrete information on how multilingualism can be promoted in practice.
