“Alexandru Marghiloman” Theoretical High School – Past, Present and Future

Summary/Abstract: On January 27, 2001, the gates of the Buzău Machine Building School Group became those of the “Alexandru Marghiloman” Theoretical High School, Buzău. The only institution with this name in the country. Next year, celebrating its fifth decade of existence, the high school is known today for its safe ascent and maintaining its position in the elite of Buzău education. „Alexandru Marghiloman” Theoretical High School is a promoter of values, through the outstanding results obtained by its students at local, county, national and international Olympics and competitions, a model organizer of school activities and events, an example of responsibility and safety. In the centenary of the Great Union, the life of the Theoretical High School „Alexandru Marghiloman” was marked by the first visit of the distinguished Mrs. Irina Vlăduca-Marghiloman, daughter of the architect Mihail Butculescu-Marghiloman and great-granddaughter of Elena Marghiloman Pherekyde, sister of the conservative politician Alexandru Marghiloman. Prior to the visit, Irina Vlăduca-Marghiloman set up a foundation named after her illustrious ancestor. Alexandru Marghiloman: famous politician, strong personality, like the characters who are polished in the high school that bears his name. Coordinating numerous projects in the high school that bears his name, we have often identified with his features. In so many international competitions and mobilities, Marghiloman was on the podium, he was applauded on the open stage, he lives through us all! Thus, his name has been spoken many times in schools and cities in Romania, as well as in countries such as Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Northern Macedonia, Latvia, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Estonia, Slovakia. A beautiful name, which has become dear to us, which means warmth, means.... HOME!
