Summary/Abstract: Literary interpretations of Ilf and Petrof’s works are almost inexistent in the Romanian culture. The decisive background of their novels, the possibility of a circular reading which is given by various stylistic devices, the emphasised intertextuality of the paragraphs and the paratopic game of the satire, as well as the indirect discourse of irony and the construction of comic and humour, offer the reader the opportunity to see an original piece of writing of a remarkable tension. Therefore, 12 Chairs, Golden Calf and America without Levels represent certainly a fascinating and fresh evidence of all these.
