Summary/Abstract: Aspects from the speeches of Bishop Nicolae Ivan at his election, ordination, investiture and installation as Bishop in the See of Cluj, the author makes a synthesis of the main ideas expressed in them; for example, Bishop Nicolae Ivan proposed as great administrative- ecclesiastical, economic, cultural and social objectives, which, during his 15 years of pastorate in Cluj, he fulfilled with great diligence. He erected of the current Metropolitan Cathedral of Cluj-Napoca (1923-1933), he acquired, by exchanging buildings, the Diocesan Residence; he constructed dozens of places of worship and parish houses in the Diocese; he established the University Theological Institute (respectively, the Theological Academy) from Cluj, in 1924, at which he promoted exceptional teachers; he set up a printing house, a library and a diocesan museum; he founded the Renaşterea journal; he printed church books and other publications of Romanian spirituality; he set up funds and deposits for the needs of the Diocese; he financially supported poor parishes and priests, widows, orphans, the sick and the needy from the Diocesan Funds; he invigorated the moral life of the Diocese through the priests, which strengthened the faithful in the ancestral faith and in their love of Nation and Country.
