European Work Councils in the Slovak Republic

Summary/Abstract: The submitted information comprises the results of the survey, which was implemented in 2006 as part of a contract with the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the SR. The article deals with participation of employee representatives of multinational companies operating in Slovakia in European works councils. The issue of the current bulletin Rodina a práca (Family and Work) edited by the Institute for Labour and Family Research focuses on the issue of works councils. The submitted information comprises the results of two surveys, which was implemented in 2006 as part of a contract with the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the SR. The fi rst of them deals with works councils´ and employee trustees´ activities in Slovak companies, the second with participation of employee representatives of multinational companies operating in Slovakia in European works councils.
