Summary/Abstract: Afghanistan, it is said, is the place where „empires come to die”. We see that in time the saying not only that was true, but the reality behind it kept repeating with every occasion, no matter what empire came about: the Macedonian Empire, the Russian Empire, Pax Britannica, Pax Americana and so on. If it is just a coincidence, one can only find out by analyzing the historical past and events. Also, if one wants the past not to repeat itself such investigations are mandatory.
