Summary/Abstract: Aiming at improving urban life through more sustainable integrated solutions, will certainly deliver quality-of-life benefits. Disruptive projects in cities are always a good opportunity to bring novel work models and know-how and develop it into business as usual for future use. The paper focuses on the issue of reducing the negative effects of rehabilitation projects requiring worksites usually located on main roads or sidewalks, by addressing the concept of dig once policies, thus changing from a rigid acting mode, to a more open, shared approach involving efficient partnerships. Addressing the virtual enterprise experiential practice for better interinstitutional cooperation may be the key for creating the premises of new and smarter work model for infrastructure projects.
