Summary/Abstract: St. Gregory Palamas, one of the key theologians for, but not only, the theologians of the Russian theological school in Paris as the conceptualizer of a relationship towards Islam. The author examines the proposed method of St. Gregory towards the Ottomans during his time and relates them to the contemporary situation within Europe and beyond. Key points regarding toleration and contemporary attitudes are addressed as well as prejudices, established on uncertain historical facts are brought to light.
