Summary/Abstract: From the dawn of the human existence until postmodern period, art, culture, religion have been prevailing parts of the human spirit, irrespective of the theorising and analysis placed upon them. The human culture is visible by creation and it is a product of the creating vocation, specific to the human being, therefore the culture is a manifestation of the spirituality and of the humanity existence condition. The more profound understanding of the material or spiritual culture phenomena brings a significant contribution related to the perception of the historical events. In the grounded and essential knowledge of the past, an important role is played by the archaeological discoveries, even if casual ones. The artistic representation of the artefacts uncovered by archaeologists raised controversies among the art historians concerning their place within the artistic works. Ian Hodder asserts that: „...the dialogue between ancient art and the contemporary one may lead to the change of the perspectives of both the artists and the archaeologists, too. This dialogue addresses the tendency, specific to the contemporary artists, to appropriate art in a subjective perspective. The archaeological witnesses may contribute to an understanding of the otherness of the prehistoric art.”1. Currently, each era of the history has archaeological information, even if not equal in terms of evidentiary value or numerous enough.
