Summary/Abstract: Crimes against life have always been a delicate subject, difficult to debate and to place within certain limits or patterns. People realized that their individual existence was mutually conditioned, and that the right to life is an absolute right of the person. History shows the contemporary man how various crimes and punishments existed and were committed; although euthanasia has been practiced since ancient times, in many states it is not legal at present. However, this measure is considered to be in contradiction with the right to self-determination and the freedom of the human being. That is why the legislation and medicine must find a way to try to resolve these two situations: on the one hand, to legalize euthanasia by ensuring the safety and protection of people, and, on the other hand, to reconcile the pros and cons of legalizing it.
