Summary/Abstract: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has led to significant changes in the field of employment relationships, especially in terms of social distancing. To create favorable conditions for the development of the business environment and to simplify the procedures specific to the human resources activity, it was adopted the Government Emergency Ordinance No. 36/2021 on the use of electronic signature in the field of employment relationships and for the modification and completion of some normative acts approved with amendments through Law No. 208/2021. The regulation amends the Labor Code to expressly providing the possibility for the parties to the individual employment contract to use an advanced electronic signature or a qualified electronic signature when concluding, amending, suspending, or even terminating the contract. In addition to the above-mentioned electronic signatures, the employer may also use an electronic seal for drawing up documents in the field of employment relationships. With this study we aim to present the types of electronic signatures that can be used in employment relationships, their legal regime and to emphasize some practical aspects regarding the signing of documents in the field of employment relationships with reference to the main amendments brought through the mentioned normative acts.
