Summary/Abstract: The protection order is a complex tool through which people who are victims of domestic violence can be protected to guarantee their personal integrity and freedom, both physical and mental, from the aggressor. Both the victim and the aggressor are qualified subjects, the relationship between them being one of a family type, but without limiting the applicability of the protection order to the family framework as governed by the civil law in general, but to an extended framework that takes into account people who have interpersonal relationships similar to those between members of the same family or people living together.
