Summary/Abstract: What connects a transmedia universe, widely known around the world, with the substantive and magical artistic world of a controversial poet? Where could we look for intersections between two worlds that at first glance seem to be situated on opposite sides of the grand cultural narrative? The following text aims to examine the migration of a character and the interpretative methods applied to actualize it in two cultural traditions – the poetry and illustrations of William Blake and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The selected objects of the study will also focus on the hybrid model of distributing content across media platforms before and after this method is specifically named transmedia storytelling and applied in mass audiovisual production. The examples mentioned above will give us more insight on how each context calls for different approaches to interpretation. On the one hand, the appropriation of the character in accordance to the requirements of the era in which it is recreated, and on the other, its added value to the contemporary cultural and media situation will be revealed.
