Summary/Abstract: This article reviews the cultural value of intertextual content in Alejo´s Carpentier Concierto barroco. It examines the work of Carpentier issuing the importance universal of the theory of the Neo-Baroque and its relation with the consolidation of South America´s identity. This text works as an invitation to follow up the richness in erudition within the work of Carpentier.
