A STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP OF OLD INDIVIDUALS' QUALITY OF LIFE AND URBAN DESIGN

Summary/Abstract: Aging is an inevitable process that exists in the course of life. In line with this process, as health conditions and living standards improve, people can live longer. As a result of this, it is predicted that the number of elderly population in societies is increasing, the population of Turkey is getting older and it will increase in the coming years. Considering the increasing elderly population, it is noteworthy that attention should be paid to the problems of the elderly and increasing their quality of life. For this reason, learning about the old age period and creating suitable spaces that can meet the psychological, physiological and socio-economic needs of the elderly are gaining importance for both the elderly and the designer.
