Summary/Abstract: Mehmet Akif Ersoy is an important intellectual who witnessed social change and transformation that took place in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and included this experience in his poems. At the same time, it opened an indelible page in our history with our National Anthem, which instilled faith, courage and national consciousness in our nation and our army in National Struggle against colonialism. Mehmet Akif draws attention with his role as an intellectual in society, especially in religious education. In many of his articles and poems he wrote, he expressed his views on the right education of the people, especially on religious issues, and tried to shape these views around the handling of aspects of our education system. In this context, one of the important aspects of our study is to reveal the thoughts of the poet that will shed light on the present day, based on his views on education and especially religious education. Thus, it is thought that this article will contribute to better understanding of our society and transfer of ideas of our national poet, Mehmet Akif, who is a true education volunteer and lover of independence, homeland and nation, on religious education to new generations.
