Summary/Abstract: Texts written by medieval Islamic geographers serve as an excellent primary source for scholars of Turkic history. They play a key role in helping us in study the political and social lives of various Turkic communities spanning the Northern Black Sea to Eastern Turkistan. Among them is Ākām al-Mercān fî zikru’l-medāin al-meşhūr fî kulli mekān, a text written by Ishaq ibn Hussain in the 11th century. It sheds light on the Khazars and Turks. As a result of the examination of two copies of this work, which is not used much in Turkish history studies, and a copy of the work called Zikr al-Akalim, the information given about the Turks constitutes the main subject of this research. In our research, firstly, it was tried to determine the copies of the manuscript, then to clarify the problems such as the identification of the author of the work and the date of writing of the manuscript. Afterwards, in the known copies of Ākām al-Mercān and the work called Zikr al-Akalim the parts related to the Caspian and Turkish regions were translated into Turkish and efforts were made to examine this information.
